Standards of Excellence are maintained and achieved through extensive CQI and Performance Improvement Initiatives; 100% Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Patient Care Report (PCR) Audit and Analysis; Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Ongoing Competency Evaluations.
The Hunter EMS Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Program is overseen by the Medical Director through the Director of Training and CQI Committee.
The Program continually monitors:
- PCR documentation with twenty documentation specific monitors
- On-time performance monthly, quarterly and yearly
- Equipment needs and upgrades
- Training and in-services
- Committee selected monitors based on quarterly data and client concerns
The Quality Improvement Committee is made up of medical professionals and administrators from Hunter EMS and Client Hospitals. The committee meets quarterly to review data from routine monitoring and specific monitors as needed. The committee also sets criteria from implementing specific monitors. Patient specific case investigations handled by the Medical Director and Director of Training are presented to the committee quarterly.
